Selection Matrix - FIU
The Feasibility-Impact-Urgency Selection Matrix will improve your ability to make correct decisions and solve problems.
FIU Procedure
- List the options
- Clarify the rating criteria ( "Feasibility" means what in your situation?)
- Rate each item (1, 3 or 5 with 1 = Low, 5 = High)
- Sum F+I+U and invert and rank (highest sum is first rank).
Variations
- Use a High-Medium-Low rating approach and then convert to a numeric scale
- Use a 1 to 10 rating (but 1-3-5 does ensure some separation)
- Use sub-criteria (e.g. split Feasibility into Cost, Risk, Suitability)
- Use additional criteria.
